NIPOST employees barricaded the entrance of the agency’s headquarters in Abuja, on Monday, 16th October 2023, protesting the appointment of Tola Adeyemi as the new CEO and postmaster general.

Initially, Adeyemi Adepoju was removed as the postmaster general by President Bola Tinubu, but this decision was subsequently reversed, leading to Adepoju’s jubilant return to the premises.

Sunday Adepoju conveyed his appreciation to the President and other key supporters.He pledged to redouble his efforts to elevate NIPOST into a world-class digital postal service & align his vision with that of the Federal Ministry of Communication, Innovation & Digital Economy in contributing significantly to Nigeria’s socio-economic development.

This reinstatement is a testament to Adepoju’s leadership skills and unwavering commitment to service.

While the agency attributed Adepoju’s reinstatement to his outstanding leadership and performance, the presidency is yet to issue an official statement regarding this development.
