Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has married a new wife, Mariam Anako, months after ex-wife, Naomi Silekunola, announced her separation from the monarch.

Oba Ogunwusi received his new bride on Tuesday evening, 6th September, 2022, after brief rites at the palace in Ile-Ife, Osun State.

The marriage was made publicly known by the spokesman for the monarch, Moses Olafare, who splashed photos and videos of the event on his Facebook page.

It was also learnt that siblings and families of the new queen and Oba Ogunwusi were present at the private ceremony.

Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ọjájá II) is the 51st and current Ooni of Ife. He is the traditional ruler/monarch of the Yoruba kingdom of Ile-Ife. He acceded to the throne in 2015 succeeding the deceased Oba, Okunade Sijuwade, who was the 50th Ooni of Ife.

In 2008, Ogunwusi married Adebukola Bombata, from whom he separated in 2016. From 2016 to 2017, he was married to Zaynab Otiti Obanor from Edo State.

In October 2018, he married Morenike Naomi Oluwaseyi. In December 2021, Morenike Naomi posted on Instagram that they were separated, but the statement was contradicted hours later by the palace. He has also been rumoured to be married to Olori Ashley Afolashade whom he introduced to his birthday party guests as his wife in October 2021.
