The Athletics Integrity Unit, AIU, has cleared Tobi Amusan, the current world champion and current record holder in the 100m hurdles champion and record holder, of three whereabouts failures and has lifted the provisional suspension placed on her with immediate effect.

According to a statement by the Athletics Integrity Unit on there Twitter page, a panel of three arbitrators absolved Amusan of the three missed tests,

This clearance provides Amusan with the opportunity to defend the only title in her career that she has yet to defend, following her successful retention of her Nigeria, African Championships, African Games, Commonwealth Games, and Diamond League titles.

Throughout this process, Amusan consistently maintained her innocence and stated that she is a clean athlete. She stated on her Facebook page in July,

I have faith that this will be resolved in my favour and that I will be competing at the World Championships in August.”

Amusan will therefore proceed to Budapest to defend the noteworthy gold medal she earned in 2022 at the 18th edition of the Championships. set to begin on Saturday, 19th August 2023 in Budapest, Hungary.

In July, the 26-year-old athlete was accused of three whereabouts failures, which is a violation on the anti-doping code for skipping three out-of-competition tests, within a 12-month period
