Popular award-winning Afropop singer, Yemi Alade, has been robbed in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire on Monday 29th November 2022 by unidentified persons where she performed at a 3-day continental creative event held over the weekend.

The ‘Johnny’ crooner travelled to the West African country to perform at the Creative Africa Nexus Weekend, CANEX WKND, where she was robbed of valuable items in the hotel where she lodged.

She disclosed this on her verified Instagram page where she shared how thieves broke into her hotel room, took all the money they could find as well as her personal belongings.

she wrote:

“A few minutes after I left my room, some unknown people decided to raid my belongings and steal: all the money they could find, Very good,”

Though the singer has said the incident was being investigated by the hotel management, she also expressed uncertainty that her money would be recovered as the suspects from the cctv are all denying to the crime.

“They are investigating, looking through cameras and all but she knows the money is all gone by now,” she posted before adding that “The suspects are all denying.”
