President Tinubu has removed Dr Maryam Shetty from Kano State as a Ministerial nominee that was billed to be screened today, Friday 4th August, 2023.
This was contained in a letter sent to the Senate and read by the President of the Senate, Godwill Akpabio, before the commencement of the continuation of the Ministerial screening.
The President replaced Dr Shetty with Mairiga Mahmoud, also from Kano state.
According to reports, there have been complains from Kano stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress led by the National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Ganduje over her appointment.
The President also submitted the name of the immediate past Minister of Labor and Productivity, Festus Keyamo, SAN from Delta State, for screening by the Senate.
President Tinubu had on Wednesday, 2nd August 2023, forwarded the name of Shetty alongside eighteen other nominees, to the Senate for screening, making the number of Ministerial Nominees forty-eight.
