Six policemen who were killed in Ughelli, Delta State, in March 2024, were honored posthumously during an award and commendation ceremony, presented by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, in Abuja on Monday, 15th April 2024.

The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, shared this information via his official handle on Tuesday, 16th April 2024.

Adejobi also mentioned that the families of the deceased officers received their entitlements and donations from various government officials during the event.

“We commend the IGP for his good heart and spontaneous response to the plight of their families.

“We also appreciate the Governor of Kano State for his donation of N20m. Also, the Senate President donated the sum of N6m, and the Senate, the sum of N20m.

We commend others who have shown interest in supporting the families of our fallen heroes. May God bless you all. May the souls of our fallen heroes rest in peace.

The Nigeria Police Force confirmed the deaths of six officers and six others during an investigation into the disappearance of three colleagues in Delta State.

Additionally, the NPF reported the arrest of eight suspects linked to the killings.
