This prompted the Lagos State Government to shut the school and establish a coroner’s inquest.

The family alleges bullying as the cause, while Dowen College denies such claims, asserting that the student was injured during a football match.

The inquest which began in January 2022, had Rosemary Oromoni, the deceased’s mother, testify on October 9, 2023, stating her son had no health issues before his death.

She explained that she was unable to bring the late student to the hospital when he returned home from school with complaints a few days before his demise.
