The Kaduna State Government has given directive to all political appointees, as well as public servants in the state aspiring for political offices in 2023, to resign on or before 31st March 2022, ahead of the 2023 general elections.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Balarabe Abbas, on Wednesday, 16th March, 2022, who said that the directive for such public office holders to resign their present appointments in the public service is in conformity with the 2022 Electoral Act recently signed by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The statement noted that the act categorically provides that such officers should resign 30 days before the party’s primary elections of the specific post they are aspiring for.

All political appointees and other public servants serving in the state government who are aspiring for political offices are expected to submit their resignation letters to the SSG on or before 31st, March 2022.
