Prof. Muhammad Ahmed Abdulazeez, the outgoing Vice-Chancellor of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, ATBU, Bauchi has suggested implementing compulsory drug tests for lecturers across Nigerian universities to evaluate their mental well-being.
Abdulazeez made this proposal during his farewell address to the University Senate at the Senate Building, Gubi Campus, on Friday, 26th April 2024.
He emphasized the necessity for lecturers, in addition to students, to undergo such assessments to purify the educational system.
If the Students are to be subjected to drug tests to determine their mental health status, there is nothing wrong if the Lecturers too are subjected to the same test.
