One of the widows of late M.K.O Abiola, Prof. Zainab Duke-Abiola, was on Friday, 23rd September 2022, remanded in Suleja Prison, Niger state, for assaulting her orderly, Inspector Teju Moses.

According to reports, the assault, which was carried out with the help of an accomplice, Rebecca Enechido, was as a result of the Orderly’s refusal to breach professional ethics by carrying out menial and domestic chores at the Professor’s house.

A chief magistrate court remanded the Professor on Tuesday 20th September, 2022 at her residence in Garki, Abuja,

The suspect was accused by the Police Force, of attempting to commit culpable homicide and an intentional insult to cause a breach of trust.

The court ordered Abiola to be remanded in Suleja prison and denied her bail, adjourning the case to Wednesday, 5th October, 2022.

The professor was arraigned in court alongside her domestic aide, Rebecca Enechido.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, in a press statement, had strongly condemned the assault of the female Police Officer, Inspector Teju Moses, by her Principal, who is a Legal practitioner and human rights activist.

The IG of Police ordered the immediate withdrawal of all Police personnel attached to the Professor.
