Late Nigerian musician Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has been honored posthumously with two awards at the Supreme Dynamic Talent Academy Awards in Ghana, on Sunday, 10th December 2023.
The honors Awards are the “Street Hop Artist of the Year”, which he was scheduled to receive before his untimely death, and the “African Song of the Year” for his single titled ‘Beast and Peace’.
The awards also renamed the Rookie street, Hip-Pop artist of the year, as the ”Imole Rookie Street Hip pop Artist of the Year” which will become an annual Award category named after Mohbad’s other moniker, ’Imole”, meaning light.
The Academy says the awards are an acknowledgement and celebration of Mohbad”s commitment to his career prior to his death and may provide solace for a grieving society.
The prestigious award’s organizers also honored the late singer by creating a new award category that will be given to the best artists each year.
