Super Falcons defender, Michelle Alozie has appealed to football fans to stop attacking Lauren James, the English player who got a red card for stomping on her during a round of 16 match between Nigeria and England, at the ongoing Women’s World Cup, on Monday, 6th August 2023.
In a show of sportsmanship, the defender stated via her Twitter handle on Tuesday, 6th August 2023, that she had nothing but respect for Lauren James.
Alozie’s tweet is coming in the wake of attacks on Lauren James by angry football fans who are unhappy with her foul on the Nigerian defender.
All though James’s team, the Lionesses of England, defeated the Super Falcons in the World Cup round of 16 fixture, James’s foul and subsequent red card dominated the headlines.
