England forward, Lauren James has been dragged by angry football fans on Twitter, for stepping on Super Falcons defender Michelle Alozie, during the Nigeria versus England 2023 FIFA World Cup, Round of 16 tie, on Monday, 5th August 2023.
The English star has been trending on Twitter with over 100k tweets since the incident happened.
While reacting to the incident, Some of the angry fans believed that Lauren James deserved to be banned from the competition.
James was sent off for her foul on Alozie in the 70th minute in the Round of 16 match between England and Nigeria.
She was initially given a yellow card by the referee but was later shown a red card after the referee checked the Video Assistant Refree, VAR, device.
However, James might be suspended from the world cup if the FIFA rules are applied.
