Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, has said that music sensation, Olamide Adedeji, popularly known as Olamide ‘Badoo’, is his best Nigerian music artiste.
Osimhen, who grew up in Lagos, acknowledged this in a chat with Pooja Media and Communications on Sunday, 18th June, 2023.
According to Osimhen, listening to Olamide’s past rap hits before matches always fuels his inspiration.
During his leisure time after lunch, when there is a break of two to three hours before the final meeting at the stadium, he immerses himself in Olamide’s recent years’ tracks, finding them highly motivating. Osimhen considers Olamide his favorite musician in Nigeria and even has a dedicated playlist for his songs.
“First of all like during my spare time after lunch we are relaxing for like two, three hours before the final meeting to get to the stadium, I listen to Olamide’s rap he’s done in recent years that is inspirational to me. Olamide is my best musician actually in Nigeria, I use to listen to him I have his playlist.
“Before I go to the stadium, I listen to Olamide’s rap. You know, there are some kinds of raps he’s done in recent years that are really inspirational to me. Olamide is my best musician in Nigeria and I have his playlist that I listen to”, Osimhen stated.
Osimhen played a crucial role in guiding Napoli to their first Serie A title since 1990. The 24-year-old striker’s remarkable performance earned him the prestigious golden boot award, scoring an impressive 26 goals in the Italian topflight.
Osimhen who scored twice as the Super Eagles beat Sierra Leone 3-2 at Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium in Monrovia on Sunday evening, 18th June, 2023, also is among those who hail Badoo. Because since Badoo’s debuted in the Nigerian music scene in 2010, he remains one of the most influential artists in Africa.

He records in both Yoruba and English and has been instrumental in the launching of the careers of several Afrobeats music stars.
