The Federal Government has reached out to INTERPOL on Monday, 25th March 2024, and issued an arrest warrant for one of the detained executives of Binance, Nadeem Anjarwalla, who escaped custody on Friday, 22nd March, 2024.

Anjarwalla, a suspect in the investigation into Binance’s activities in Nigeria, fled using a Kenyan passport, while his colleague remained in custody.

He left Nigeria via a Middle East airliner, shocking security agencies who had him guarded by soldiers in a ‘safe house’.

The Office of the National Security Adviser, ONSA confirmed his escape and initiated efforts to arrest him, collaborating with Interpol.

Anjarwalla’s escape raised questions, as he was under a 14-day remand order by a Nigerian court.

The ONSA spokesperson urged the public to provide information for his arrest.

Anjarwalla and his colleague were detained in a ‘safe house’ on the orders of the National Security Adviser.

The Nigerian government is also pursuing legal actions against Binance for alleged tax offenses and illegal activities.

Binance confirmed Anjarwalla’s departure from Nigerian custody and emphasized their cooperation with authorities.

Investigations are ongoing to determine Anjarwalla’s whereabouts and the circumstances of his escape.
