R&B artiste, Casandra Ventura, popularly known as Cassie, and Rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs have settled a legal case after she accused him of rape and physical abuse.
They announced their agreement on Friday, 17th November 2023, In a joint statement released, without disclosing details.
Cassie expressed her desire to resolve the matter amicably on terms that give her some level of control, thanking her family, fans, and legal team for their support.
Combs wished Cassie and her family the best, stating their decision to amicably resolve the issue.
Cassie had filed the lawsuit on Thursday,16th November detailing a decade-long alleged cycle of abuse and violence during her relationship with Combs.
However, Combs denied the allegations and accused her of attempting to extort him, labeling her claims as “offensive and outrageous”
Confirming the settlement, Cassie’s lawyer, Douglas Wigdor, commended her for her courage in going public with the lawsuit.
The lawsuit contained explicit descriptions of alleged violent abuse that Cassie claims started when she was 19 and Combs was 37.
In the legal document, she also mentioned that Combs signed her to his record label, Bad Boy, and allegedly introduced her to drugs and alcohol, leading her into dangerous addictions that controlled her life.
